Just bought an ILF recurve, I shoot split, is there a best starting place for tiller for split?

Is it best to try to get your arrow as close to square(when tuned in) with string as possible for the quietest shot?

Who has shot longbow limbs on em and what did you think?

I shoot 1/8" positive tiller on mine. Use the nock height you shoot all of your bows with. It will react the same.

for split finger start with about 1/8" positive.  Work from there and have fun.

Good advice above. Most ILF longbow limbs need a higher brace to be stable. Mike at Dryad makes some wonderful ones, the acs version.

I like to set center shot so the arrow tip is just outside the string when viewing from the belly with string lined up in the middle of riser. This seems most forgiving to me.

I have several risers and a bunch of limbs, I shoot 3 under and set tiller even. Nock is about 3/8 over square. Recurve or longbow I just set them up like you would any bow and then fine tune from there. Makes for many options with riser length, limb style and length with a small adjustment in poundage also. They are fun to mess with and really fun to shoot. Got my first bear last year a Zipper ILF with Dryad limbs on Bear Quest #9. Have fun.......

I am different, I have "0" tiller and shot split finger. I also have a slightly higher race and nockingoint. I have also switched back to endless loop strings.

I just snagged me a riser off of facebook.. it should be here in a little over a week.  Going to see how it does with the centaur ilf limbs i have.

All good advice above. I have a set of Dryad ACS recurve that likes 1/8 positive. My Borders like 3/8 positive. The Ultimate Pro's like dead even although they shoot well at an 1/8 as well. You just have to experiment.

I will build a set of longbow limbs too, but have to do some head scratching first. Don't think my TD limb form will be quite right for the angle of pads on the riser I have. Long weekend coming up....  

Take a side pic at full draw with the riser perpendicular.

Then transpose into PowerPoint.

Draw vertical line thru riser and adjust line or image until vertical.

Then move line over to view intersection of top and lower string/limb contact.

Adjust tiller until the line intersects both the top and bottom string/limb contact points.

***Thus bottom limb and top limb are pulling evenly at full draw***

My Dryad ACS LBX setup, shooting three under, is 1/8" negative tiller.

Even tiller works for me. I shoot split.

That's the beauty of ILF. What works for others might not for you. It won't cost you anything but time to play with it. I shoot short (52") I have had Negative top work for 3 under, Even at 2 under.

Started on a longbow limb form today, now to figure it all out! LOL

I shoot 3 under and I can't tell the difference when my Morrison ILF is even or otherwise. Shoots great.

So far with stock limbs, 1/8" positive tiller seems best. Would you guys say the arrow closest to square where the nock is set would be cleanest flight and best performance?
