This is my Flatline Hypertensions that was special made for me this past spring .

It's curly maple with white and black ebony veneers . There are several worm holes in the veneers and that just adds to the character .

If it's sooo beautiful you are afraid to take her out, then yes!

But as long as you don't mind being seen in public with a beauty (and I don't), then you should be just fine with that one there!

I dont think there should ever be a bow TOO purdy to hunt with. After all, especially for a hunter, what else was the bow purchased and designed for? I "get" caring for a bow, and being careful....but if you're not gonna hunt or shoot with it, why even own it? Its like these folks that buy land rover vehicle's and are afraid to use them off road....what was the extra money spent for....status? I could care less, use the dang thing or get something you WILL use

An ol boy brought to the range a black widow bow that was obviously highly customized with beautiful exotic woods. He was sooooo proud, it was obvious he felt himself a notch or more above everyone else. He wasnt a bad shot. When he moved on, I stepped up to the same spot, shot as tight or tighter, with speed differences appearing to be little. I dont know how expensive his bow was, but mine cost $290 brand new, and I feel mine is a looker too.. Dont get me wrong, I love a widow, owned and loved them myself.... but in the end they all send arrows....dont get Soooo caught up in the bow or the looks of it, and forget that putting an arrow on spot is the goal.

Just throw it in the mud once or twice and you will be good to go.........

Lots of dark good looking wood and super shiny is the way I like'em.

Beautiful bow. The only bow I would consider not taking to the woods be the Blacktail Legacy with the price at $4500.00 I would cry if I got a scratch on it. But since I don't own one,I don't have to worry about it. Other than that I would take any bow out in the field.

I remember the first truck I ever bought new.  Glossy, shiny, clean.  My father told me the best thing I could do for myself was take a garden rake to the bed, and get it over with - because I had just purchased the most expensive hammer I would buy.

That sage advice has served me well over the years.  A tool to get the job done - only the job itself varies.

Thumper Dunker

A bow that's too purdy can be fixed with just a little sand paper or spray paint. Nice bow now go get blood on it.

I've refinished a couple bows. And when done, they sure looked nice. But it only takes one hunting season to give them some "beauty" marks and make them even more perdy.   ;)

Been told by a couple people that the "64" Zebrawood Grizzly I hunt with is to purdy to take to the woods.

I'm in the minority.  I don't want endangered tropical hardwoods, I don't want elk antler anything in my bow, I don't want arrows footed with some kind of rare wood.  I don't care bout bling at all. I want a bow that shoots well and kills animals
