Does the serial number of a bear kodiak hunter indicate what month and year it was manufactured? The number of mine is KT47235.

I would ask this question on the collectors forum, they will be more helpful.Thats where I asked about a Bear K-mag.

No it doesn't. They are identified by color and coin type.

Once you get in to the K's S/N's aren't helpful. The 65-69's numbers give you the year. The coins actually become of no help as you get in the 70's a bit as well as they just grabbed silver or gold raised coins and applied. A picture of the handle may help us get it down to a couple of years. The 1953 date on the limb is always good for putting on the right side of 1972.

So far, no one has come up with any connection of Bear serial # to both month and year.  However, there are lots of other clues to get one close to year made.

Kodiak Hunters production didn't start until the latter part of 1967. This is why the first year KHs are referred to as 1967 1/2. The first three year's serial numbers are 7,8,9 meaning 1967,1968,1969,respectively. The K designates 1970-1977. The 1967 1/2 were the only year these bows were 58". And yes the coin is a help to narrow the year down but which exact year is practically a no-go. The blue stripe/green glass can be a 1976 only or a 1976/1977. Look at the color of glass and micarta color on the belly side. This can help with a year approximation along with which coin a bow has.

So does that mean that my Kodiak Hunter (serial # - 7T9619) was manufactured in 1967?  Has green glass and the brass copper coin.
If man evolved from apes, then why are there still apes?
