So I'm seeing a lot about the woodsman broadheads and want to know if there's any kind of a performance difference between the originals and the elites. I've heard a lot about how the originals curl at the tip but if you sharpen the tips right then you eliminate that. Please help me on this because there is a big price difference here and if I don't have to then I don't want to spend the extra money on a broadhead that doesn't perform any better than the original. Thanks!

As I understand it the Elites are simply a version of the VPA Terminator...as such they are machined out of one piece of steel making them very strong

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

What Dave said... I like the elites because I can get a solid 200gr screw in head

The originals are a great head, just pyramid the tip and it will be strong. The glue on gives you a lot of flexability as far as weight with different adapters, just choose a good quality steel or titanium adapter for strength.

One thing you need to know is the difference in the ferrue size. I do not like the elites because they do not come in a 11/32. I prefer that the trailing end of my broadheads be larger not smaller than the end of my shaft. Other than that, I think they are a great head. Having said that, I now use the Grizzley Instinct, which I think is the superior of 3-blades.
Never measure the mountain until you have reached the top, then you will see how low it is.

The originals are great heads. Just get them sharp, bob the tip a little, and go hunt.

I pyramided the tip of one of the originals and had it blow through a femur of a deer that jumped the string.  Shattered the femur into several pieces, and experienced no damage to the head. Some touch up sharpening and I put it onto another arrow.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Thank you that's very good to know. Another  question I have is what is the benefit of shooting a 200 or 250 grain woodsman set up versus shooting  A 125 or 150 grain woodsman set up? Is it OK and do you get the same results from just using heavier inserts and adapters with the lighter broadheads or is there something special about using the actual heavier head?

Pick whatever adapter you want to use and Hammer Down you can kill anything on this continent with that setup.
