For you guys in the DFW area, is there any good trad shops that you know of nearby? I'll be headed to Dallas this afternoon and fishing on Lewsiville tomorrow. If I have a little time to kill tomorrow evening I'd like to check out a bow shop or two before I head home.

TxAg

Unfortunately, there is no such thing in DFW

"TXAg" hit the nail on the head. Nothing like that around here.    :banghead:

Dangit. Guess I'll just have to fish a little more then!!

Only decent shop around ( that i know of ) is On Target Archery in Canton. Very little in the way of trad gear though.

Yeah I know one of the guys at On Target through another forum. They're good folks. I'll probably pop in there just to kill time. It just seems like good trad shops are hard to come by.

The only really good "trad" shop I know of is Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear in Denver!

There's a good one in Little Rock.  Pretty far but closer than Colorado!!

It would seem like DFW is big enough to support a good trad shop.
6 or 7 million and growing, plus everything within a hundred miles, another million people.

Sounds like a good idea for a business venture.

There used to be a shop in Denton. I went a couple times while visiting the area 20 years ago. I am not sure if its still open. Was and old sporting goods shop that had been in business for many years. Had a good selection of trad equipment back then.

Smithfield Archery in North Richland Hills is run by some trad shooters (nice folks).  It's not a "trad shop" but they have some stuff there and certainly enjoy talking and shooting trad.  Cinnamon Creek Ranch is a huge outfit over in Keller.  They are primarily set up for compound stuff but they are actually now carrying Striker take downs and they have 3-4 3D ranges that you can shoot trad on if you want.  They still look at me funny when I bring my trad stuff in there though:)

There are several of them at Cinnamon creek that are very familiar with traditional. With that said they don't carry much traditional gear though.

I actually found a pretty decent shop in Madisonville for any of you East TX guys. It's called Archery World. They cater more to the compound crowd, but they have quite a few trad bows and the guy that works in their pro shop is pretty sharp on traditional stuff. They have an indoor 3d range too as well as an outdoor range.
