I second Ron W's post.

Wonderful shoot and a  great time.  I came home with all my arrows this year so that is a plus.

Seriously, I think this is the best Traditional archery Rendezvous in NY.

Thanks Oxford and Scott for accepting us.

Had a great time, finally met Ron P and wife.  Told him I felt like I know him after reading all his posts.  Told me I must have too much time on my hands.  Great shoot that more folks should attend

To many Ron's Brian......lol. Nice to talk to you and I really like the JD Berry longbow of yours. Ronp is also a good guy to chat with.

Scott and the gang at Oxtar really know how to put on a great shoot! Thanks so much!

Had a fantastic weekend camping out on site. I also got to meet and shot with some great guys, Ron P, Ron W and his wife, Cyclic-Rivers, Kat, Shooter150, Old Grizz. Ron P's pulled pork was the best at the Saturday Night Pot Luck Dinner. I second Cyclic-Rivers comment, "this is the best Traditional archery Rendezvous in NY".

Already planning for next year!

Well, that was another great time!  Thank you to Scott, Jim and all the folks at OXTAR for hosting another great week-end event!  It was really good seeing and visiting with friends.  Good chatting with Ken (KAT), Ron and his better half, and Charlie.  And Dave and Brian from Camden.  And too many others to count.  We had some fine camping weather, and it was good camping out with Mike and Pete and Dan (Mountain Man).  Good seeing you guys again.  It was also good to see Lenny Calkins and his whole crew camping out as well!  All good shooters.

Thanks again everyone that puts on this shoot.  And the kitchen crew, too!  Great food as always!

Thanks to everyone for coming! We had a pretty decent turnout with 82 shooters and a record number of folks camping. There were quite a few new folks as well. We did drop the ball this year on the dates. Normally we are 2 weeks after the Muzzy shoot every year. This year we were a week after and we were competing with the very well established Hawkeye Bowman shoot. Won't happen again.

Next year will be the 10th OxTAR and we are planning to do some special things that you won't want to miss:

Making a ton of flu flu's for aerial shooting on the practice range.

Some novelty shoots we've discussed, but haven't done before.

Possibly a pig roast...I have to float that one by the powers that be since I'm no longer a club member since moving to Vermont.

There is one thing I want to do that I won't announce until I'm sure we can pull it off, but if we can, it will be both extremely fun and hilarious. Stay tuned...

Anyway, thanks again, spread the word, and put it on the calendar for next year. It's gonna be a good one!

Thanks to Jim, Scott, and all the OXTAR staff for an outstanding weekend. No one could ever complain that there wasn't enough shooting to be had. And it seems there are new things every year. Lots of hard work went in to making this event happen.

Remember calendars are not fixed, dates move around. In 2015 there were 5 weekends in August. Only 4 August weekends in 2016, 17, 18, and 19. Calendar will be back to 5 August weekends in 2020. So you have to do the best you can with what you have.

It was great to see friends and make new ones. And the food was abundant and excellent as always.

RonP, thanks for getting the photo my good side, the side where I look mostly confused. Happens all the time. Seriously, great photos. Next year we need to get some course photos.
