My most rewarding treasure from hunting with traditional equipment is the friendships i have been blessed with. Ed was at the top of my list. I met Ed on the phone to complain about a walrus hide arm gaurd he sold me in 93ish?  Next thing i knew he was in my lap in south ga hog hunting in months. Like wise he drug me through some knarly alaska raft hunts where we almost drowned me and i lost a bow several times. Ed was a gentleman and intellect. He loved bowhunting and tirelessly pursued to better his broadheads and arrows he founded in his company at Alaska Bowhunting Supply.  If you ever met Ed you noticed right off the bat how genuine he was and interested he was in you and history. My heart goes out to Garrett ,jenny and Siri today for their and our loss. Joey buchanan

Ah shoot.  Thanks JoeB I hadn't heard.  He was a very great, interesting guy. Had lunch last fall but don't think we'd talked since... he shared some great quotes from you JoeB from a flooded out float trip on the A. River.  Prayers for his family.

JOeB,

I got that call from his Sister...Ed and I had a long history as well, I got him to attend Denton Hill shoot and we had a lot of great memories. I couldn't make the one float fishing trip he wanted me to make... finances ruin fun!  :(

I knew he had the pulmonary fibrosis, but he kept it quiet...and I Learned his closing moments were of his design, with family.

I posted it on the Prayer forum.

I will that guy and his antics.. like the purple bathrobe, plywood antlers taunting a young bull moose in his yard...he was always doing something.

He lost his friend a year or so ago, now him.  Indeed TJ, way too many such posts...but each of us has no guarantees on when or how long

Dang Joey...

I appreciate the invite from you that allowed me to hunt with and get to know Ed.  I think you nailed the part about his interest in people he met.  I felt that in a huge way within minutes of meeting him.  Also getting to watch him shoot his first turkey was unforgettable on many levels.  Wish I would have done a better job staying in touch with him. Truly an endearing character....

Prayers sent to Garret and his family I only ever got to speak with him on the phone wish I could have met him.
