Im thinking about buying the Glendel Buck target. Anyone have and use one? Pros, cons?

I just picked one up at a yard sale today, I haven't shot it yet. Pros-$100 Cons-none yet!  

I'll never own another one - there is a metal plate that runs under the vital section that would be right below the heart in a live animal.  If you shoot just a tad bit low - it will break your arrow everytime.  I can't tell you how many arrows I ruined before I did "surgery" on that target and removed the plate and front leg and just used spray foam to rebuild it.  

I didn't have the Full Rut, I had the next size down.

Don't do it, get yourself a r&w target instead

I think sportsmans guide has the large shooter buck for only $80 right now. That said, I'd go for a Rinehart!

They shoot out quick and the inserts are expensive. Never shoot broadheads if you want them to last even a little while. Rhinehart targets are the best for the money in my opinion.

Rhineheart for sure. Expensive but worth it. I don't shoot mine all the time but save it for practice before hunting season. Spend the money and get an extra insert as soon as you can, just in case. You'll be glad you did if you ever need one and they are no longer being made for your model.  

Doesn't last very long at all, for the money spent on it.

I like Rinheart but don't get the woodland buck version they use cheaper material on the body and only the good stuff on the insert. Get the tree stand buck

I checked all the models listed on the Rinheart website, but did not see a "Tree Stand Buck" listed. Did you mean Broadhead buck?

If you want to stay on the inexpensive side I'd get a R&W before the Glendell as well

Thanks everyone. Im looking at both Rhinehart and R&W. Rhinehart has 2 divisions of 3d's. Woodland, and signature /competition. I dont see the advantage of buying any of the more expensive woodland series as they are all made the same way. Foam bodys with self heal inserts. I might as well get the cheaper woodland buck if i buy anything in that series and save money.
The competition series are much higher, and it looks like they are all self healing foam through out...but im not sure. Im looking at the spike buck in the signature /competition series, it being the same body size as the woodland buck. Can anyone tell me what makes the signature /competition series better? Are they indeed self healing through out, or why so much higher then the woodland series?

Get a Rinehart, Best bang for your buck IMO. I've had several others including the one you mentioned

Rinehart x2.  They work great.  I've been able to pickup blemished versions at 50% off.

The Rinehart "broadhead buck" is entirely made of the self-healing foam unlike there other non-competition grade targets.  The disadvantage is it's the size of a 60lb late fawn!!!!  It's the model that has it's head down like it's feeding.  It's been a great target, but again, it's very small.

I talked to Rhinehart. The only model in the woodland series that has self healing foam through out the whole target is the broadhead buck. Its only $50 more to get the spike buck in the competition model, and its a little bigger. I dont think its broadhead rated though. I dont mind as I wasn't going to shoot them into it anyway. I'll use a cheaper block style target fot that. Im definitely going with Rhinehart.  The ol boy there said that competition series in my backyard would very possibly last me 10 yrs. Do the math... lol! Thanks guys for the help!

I have both the Rinehart Booner Buck (Woodland series) that I shoot at home and the Big Ten Buck (Competition series) that I keep at my cabin.

While the Big Ten is a slightly larger target and has self-healing foam throughout, for the money the Booner is a great target. I shoot it WAY more than the Big Ten and it's holding up fine. I shoot most every day for 6 months of the year. I'm going on year #2 and the original insert is going strong.

The insert is large enough that you'll easily keep arrows on it at normal shooting distances. Unless you intend to do a lot of shooting past 35 yards, or have kids/new shooters pounding away at it, I can't see any need for self-healing foam on the body.

I paid less than $200 for a blem model Booner, versus over $500 for the Big Ten.....

I would give Big Jim a call he often has Blemished targets at a very good price.
