I bought a really nice Bear Minuteman recently. Any idea what the brace height should be(approx)?
It shoots nice but the string seems a tad long.
I think Bear recurves generally need a fairly high brace height.
Thanks,
Jim

I have had several Bear recurves over the years and still have a few. Most of them seem to be happy at 8.25" to 8.5" or so in brace height. There was one particular Grizzly that needed to be at 9" before it got quiet, and a touch over 9" before it became perfect, but all of the rest liked the 8.25" to 8.5" area.
Don't be afraid to experiment with a high brace height on a Bear recurve.

I don't know anything about a Minuteman, but i do know i look forward to seeing it chasing NC whitetails this fall!

Huskyarcher, it's ready!!! I'm counting the days:)
Thanks guys.

I'll twist up the string some and see if that helps.
