Having a new one built soon and can't decide how to go with this, any advice would help. Pro's and cons?
thanks

I don't recall having an option.  What choices are available for limb attachment?

studs fixed to the riser or bushings with the bolts loose.

I prefer the bolts loose utilizing the brass bolt bezels as opposed the the big black knobs that go with the bolts fixed in the riser.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

I am always gone with the bolts gone so the riser is easier to store when nedeed. Plus you can easily find a spare one if for any reason you loose something plus more aftermarket options

When I got my Silvertip, I indicated that I wanted antler burl fastenings for the limbs, so my limbs came with the fixed bolts, and also with a spare pare of the ugly black knobs.  My understanding is that was the way it had to be if I wanted the Silvertip antler burls, although antler burl fastenings are available other places, I guess, that have the bolts built into the burls themselves.  I've never had any problem with the fixed bolts, and I guess never gave it a thought until I read these posts.

I have three tips with fixed bolts. I like to add brass antler burrs to mine for extra weight. I don't like loose bolts because they require an allen tool. Enjoy the bow.

Keith Zimmerman

Ive ordered all my Tips with the bolts loose.  I like the idea of not having the threaded bolt sticking out and potentially scratching another riser or limb.

I know Danny likes his bolts attached.

Both my tips have fixed bolt and like the antler knobs .
Would like to get a set of double carbon limbs one day.
Herd they are quicker .

I like the fixed bolts.  No tools needed for taking down/putting together.

Yep, fixed bolts with brass antler knobs. but you can get the antler knobs with the bolts in them if you prefer.

I have a 42# Silvertip longbow that has double carbon limbs.  I like the way it shoots, and plan to keep it, but I haven't found it to be noticeably faster.  I also have a 40# Toelke Lynx with normal laminated wood limbs, that chronos at the same speed as the Silvertip with the same arrow.  Granted, the Lynx is a takedown and the Silvertip is a one-piece, so may not be directly comparable, but OTOH they are both 66" longbows.

You can have bolts loose of any kind, mine are the Silvertip antler bronze knobs to add wheight or I can use real antler carved knobs or the small black knobs..Options are countless.
