Do you think it is safe to shoot a mag riser with newer limbs with FF tips?  I'm not worried about the limbs but the riser.  I've recently read of mag risers blowing up.  Let me know your thoughts. Thanks - Jeff

All I use, in fact I use a skinny string. I use mostly my 55# limbs but also have a set of 60# limbs. That thread I read as well. Seems it was one of the first risers before they were beefed up by the limb pockets. IMO it is more about the weight of the arrow. I use arrows that are 9-10 grains of bow weight. It does not mean the riser will never break. If the riser was cast with any air pockets the chances of failure are more. One reason Mag risers are not used.

The earliest B-mag risers had problem with developing cracks and coming apart. That was solved quickly by the Bear factory changing the design and adding a "strut" to the B-mag riser that was part of the casting. The A-mag risers never had that problem.

I have two A-mag risers that have been shot extensively with Bear FF limbs and with Rose Oak FF limbs. I will be too old to shoot before either one of them develops any "blowing up" problems, I'm sure.
