I'm going to get mine media blasted next week and am leaning towards the Rustoleum Multicolor Textured paint in their "desert bisque" color....I've seen a few done in that color and really like it.

I hope to have it done and ready to shoot at the TN Classic shoot at Clarksville, TN in late April.

My brother has access to a bead blaster at work so I sent it to him and he was able to knock it out and send it back already, now I just need another nice weekend and I'll get it painted and back together. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics soon.

I got the B-Mag painted and I'm very happy with the way it turned out....if someone can clue me in on how to post pictures I would post some before and after shots.

I ended up using Aircraft stripper. Took off old paint in a few minutes. I found a man that does Ceracoat near me. It was $85 to get my C riser done. Picked it up a few hours ago, looks great.

So today besides getting back my C riser I got my new limbs from Kirk at Big Foot. After admiring them I went to mount them on my B riser. While stringing it up The bracket that holds the latch come off the riser. Seems the screws were loose. Limbs were not hurt but I have a screw hole with some stripped threads. I never realized how small those screws are.
Once I get threads redone and new screws I plan on JB Welding the whole assembly together.

As long as you stripped all of the paint off, did you inspect it for micro fracture around the limb socket?  I had two mag takedowns, loved the whole concept.  great handling and shooting bows.  One was older and had the fuzzy paint and the other had the smooth paint.  They both broke at the limb pocket, the second one gave me a black eye and a cracked nose.

Pavan,
Everything looked good...what do you think caused yours to crack, lots of shooting?

I actually know the history of this bow...my buddies parents bought it for him on his 17th birthday in 1971 when he had just gotten into archery.  He soon realized that he was left eye dominant so he started buying left handed bows and this one sat for years.

Neely1911

Fully assembled...waiting for the last coat of clear poly on the limbs to dry and then I can start shooting!!!

Thanks guys, it was a fun project and I'm looking forward to shooting it.

I also need a quiver for it, leaning towards a Kanati 2 piece that straps on the limbs if it will fit.

Looks good. I just stripped mine and have one coat of ultra matte charcoal rustoleum paint on it cap looked almost black but actually more of a dark grey. Looks good so far.

Steve,

Can you take pics.  I would like to see.  I think I am going to get the same color.  THanks.  Ken

Steve Kendrot

Sure. Might not be able to get to it for a day or so. Have a busy day Sunday. Should have taken some before pics. Used the stripper mentioned earlier. Worked pretty well with an old toothbrush to knock of the tougher spots.

Steve Kendrot

Ken. Pics sent to your email. No time for Photobucket.

A word of caution, be very, very careful removing and installing screws in mag riser. I was not and stripped a hole out. Of all places the screw hole that holds screw and spring for latch retainer.

Nice job.I like it.I did one the same color several years ago.
