I've got a Benchmade - I've forgotten what it's called-- ~3" tanto frame lock folder that I belt-clip to my pant waist.  Very handy.

In the field, I've tried carrying a sensible and very servicable Solingen 4" bowie style -- but I find myself regretting that I left my KBar behind.

The KBar is one that I've had for 36 years! (Uh-oh: I got old, somehow!)  The secondary bevels have been polished and blued and the edge just seems to stay "right" despite all the nicks I've had to sharpen out of the thing.  I use it to clean up blinds and stands and slip through green briar: just a flick of the wrist and the briars fall to the ground.  It works on deer and hogs, too.

For skinning, a full-tang Schrade Old Timer with a very dropped-pointed 3-1/2" blade: four deer this year and only on the last one did I think, "This knife is going to need some attention, soon."

I carry an old Remington fixed blade 5 inches and razor sharp for hunting and victorinox/benchmade for pocket carry. I have had a victorinox for at least 30+ years now. They just do everything, from cutting your sandwich to tighting a loose screw or opening your favorite adult beverage/can of beans. don't leave home without it!

This is my new toy! It'll be my go-to fixed blade, from now on (or until I make another!   :D  )

This is (one of) my other favourite....

This is never out ofmy pocket....

A very small Chinese folder. Best quality production folder I've ever owned!

Here's my EDC.  A single blade trapper made by Don Morrow from down in Texas.  Nice and slim profile.  About 3 & 3/4 inches long in the pocket with a 3 & 1/2 inch blade of ATS34.  Handfiled scrollwork on the backspring and the blade.  Amber bone handles.

For hunting I carry a drop point knife, about 4"blade.It was made by Tim Zowatta in Michigan, and the blade is damascus,185 layers,I think. The scales are sheep horn if I remember right. I got it at the banquet auction for WVBA. It is a really good knife.

After Mon., I now carry a homemade antler handled, fertelizer buggy, bearing race, hammered knife. Deadly razor edge on it.

here's mine

I always worry about only having a folder in my pocket, and needing to maybe cut myself out of a shoulder harness hanging from a tree..or whatever..so I like a belt knife.

OK Ray, who made that knife?? That's exactly the style knife I'm looking for; good handle length with a nice blade.
