I can't help with housing, but Western Archery (in Poncha Springs) is a great store run by terrific people, nice indoor range. PM me for the outdoor 3d range directions.  I lived in Buena Vista for 20 years and the area still feels like home to me.

Thanks.  Ive been thru the area on a few Elk hunts.  The area is beautiful.  Just gotta find some housing before I make the big move.  Then find something more permanent if that makes sense.

Hope you have a good paying job...rent and real estate is expensive in Salida...I live an hour away in Westcliffe...grew up in Buena Vista (1/2 hour away)

Keith..I'm 62 and have lived in CO. my entire life...most of it within an hour or less of Salida..lots to do in the great outdoors down here.Any where even close to a ski area is (in my opinion) pretty expensive living. Good place to live though...
