We discussed building these for our outdoor club range. One of the objections was that the compressed carpet can be abrasive on arrows. Has anyone experienced this?
Old doesn't start until you hit three figures...and then it's negotiable

I shoot one that I made out of old used carpet, we shook out as much dirt as we could. then stacked and compressed. so far over 1000 shots with the same 6 arrows and I see no arrow wear.
"There's only two things an arrow wants to do, it wants to fly and it wants to hit its target. It's in its very nature. Don't over think it."

I have seen the GT trad pattern wear off using the carpet back stops at Ben Avery range here in Az. I donot however know how long these folks have had those arrows. Personally I have not had any issues but I foot my carbons with 2" of alum shaft. Do not know if footing helps or not? I also use CE Heritage with no issues.
