Another vote for Osage!  Even nicer as it ages.

Macassar ebony,Bolivian rosewood, or cocobolo would be my choices but I'm partial to dark woods.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Tom, I'm partial to dark woods as well. I was also thinking about some figured Koa and have been searching for pics of it in a bow with little luck. This is the only pic I could find...
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

You might be surprised how well Chechen or walnut would go with black

I have a Bob Lee that's all  black micarta  with black and white ebony accents( as mentioned several times!)...its awesome

AR RidgeRunner

Depends on how much contrast you want, everything goes with black. Curly maple, Osage, Myrtle for more contrast or Ziricote, Maccasar Ebony, Coco for less contrast. Black and White Ebony would be awesome if you've got that option.

If I went with black & white Ebony what limb veneers would you suggest.

I'd go with B&W limb veneers too
