Been a while since I was on here. A couple of months ago I had quad by pass surgery with a mitol valve replacement. Doc says no archery till March or April at the soonest. Even then he says to get away from the 75 lb bows till the surgery is at least a year old. So...I sold my bow with wheels on it and am now going soley trad. I have a nice Osage made by Jimmy Taylor in Russellville Al.( yeah, I know) It is very straight and has no knots that I can tell. It is about 55-60 lb pull. This is a bit too much for me. Can anyone suggest someone who can re-tiller it to about 45-50 lbs at 28 or 29? Also, I have a dozen POC arrows made by Suzanne St Charles of Northwest Archery that are spined for the bow. Any suggestions here? 6 of them have 125gr field tips and 6 have 125gr Magnus broadheads. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Im sure someone will chime in who can re-tiller that bow for ya. I would think the arrows would be workable with point weight...I will let the experts take it from here. Good luck!

I'd be willing to bet someone would loan you a lighter bow, or trade, or something. IMO it'd be a shame to lighten up a self bow that's tillered already, especially when some of Suzanne's arrows are matched to it!

It seems by your comments that going trad is new to you.  If that is true, I would consider leaving this bow be and getting something with less poundage for now.  I converted about 3 years ago and had a lot to learn (still do).  I starting with a 50# and I am continually going up in poundage.  I have a 65# bow now which is likely where I will stay.  Of course that means I had to get different bows along the way.

I don't know if you want to shoot more than 45 lbs someday, but I do know that you won't be able to bring this bow weight back up very easily.  Just a suggestion.  Good luck.

Thank you all for your comments. lt-m-grow...you are correct. I am new. Just started to get into Trad when the health problems began. Just tired all the time and didn't feel like practicing. Then the hospital. Now recovery. You make a great point. Think I'll keep the Osage as is and get another bow a little lighter. Thanks again to all.
