Roads are not good and supposed to get worse so I get a rare day off. I went "slipped" outside to do some shooting and had to take a couple pics.

And here I thought this title was going to be about "ice fishing" with a bow!   :knothead:    :bigsmyl:

Pretty pictures....if you don't have to drive in it!

It looks like that here in Illinois, too.

More on the way for tonight and tomorrow.

It sure looks pretty but I know a lot of folks in that part of the country are having difficulties and are without power(no heat), phones(can't call for helpor check loved ones and friends) or less importantly cable TV(to keep up on the weather reports).

Hang in there.

Yep, and another half inch forecasted for tonight.

Trees down all over the place.  What a mess.

Wow!  I don't think I'll complain about getting to much snow anymore....
At least we can shovel it.

Same here. Looks like more to come tonight, then rain tomorrow then back to ice again tomorrow night followed by snow Thurs. Gotta love it!!

Here in Jeff City area (Cole County) 22,000 people were without power this morning.  It makes for pretty pics but sucks otherwise.  I'd rather have alot of snow anyday!

Northeast Oklahoma has about 1/2 million homes with out powerGot lots of good pics when I can get on from home. I startd my day with a chainsaw just to get out of the driveway, main power lines down all over Rogers and Nowata counties, ugly ugly mess. It will be decades before our local forests recover fully. Huge trees splintered like match sticks everywhere you look.. I think I even lost my mulberry that I was saving for bow wood.

Glad I'm south of all that mess. We are walking around in hip waders down here though. Been raining for 3 solid days. Hope y'all make it thru okay.

I bought some safety treads for ice fishing years ago; and with the freezing snow we had around here 10 days ago; they are life savers.  The local Ace Hardware had some in for ice fishing and the senior citizens snapped them up. Hey, I am a senior citizen also now.  Anyway, I carry a pair of the pullover type safety treads in my glove box and have a pair in the house. Falling is a big deal now, not funny.  My folks in Moniteau county, MO were out of power for 11 hours on Sunday and hopefully that is the end of it.

We just got power back last night and we are in town, rural folks may be days without it yet. Our town looks like a giant went through snapping off the tops of trees as he went. I haven't heard numbers yet but I know it was more than an inch of ice and we are far from the worst.

Apologies for the light-hearted comments earlier... since then we've been getting news briefs on how bad it is for you folks out there...huge power outages, damage, so many deaths due to traffic accidents mostly...

We had no idea it was going to be or was quite this awful... it's headed our way tomorrow. Doug Campbell is on the road headed to NY and was going to stop for lunch, but we just talked on the phone and he might head out tonite to drive through from Pittsburgh area and beat the mess!
