I won't be able to shoot for a few weeks come Feb 17th. I have pilonidal cyst on the top buttocks...ouch, yeh it hurt when it flared up. couldn't sit down. Anyways, it will be removed and stitched up. Anyone ever had one? How long will it be before I can shoot again? Any suggestions?

Can't offer you any advise. But I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Yes I had one. Mine flared up so bad I could not walk. Problem was we were on a 60 day cruse on uncle Sam Sub. Navy the Doc. lanced it at sea with no pain killers. Two very big torpedo men held me down. The doc. operated on it when we returned after the cruse. You will be able to shoot after about 2 weeks when your not sitting in hot water socking it. Good luck
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

OK, we need more info.  I never experienced that but just can't imagine how anything back there would keep me from shooting.

You don't have a different style of holding the bow you aren't telling us about now, do you ?

Get well soon.....

Had one.  A couple of weeks is about right. You sit in a little rubber tube for awhile afterwards. Good luck with the surgery.

I had the same problem years ago. They left mine open to heal from the bottom up. I needed to get in the bathtub  with eposon salts and a cheesecloth and gently rasp the wound to promote healing from the bottom up. I was 40 years younger then and it didn't slow me down too much.  Hope all goes well for you!

Thanks guys. The swelling and infection are gone but I have been advised to go ahead with the surgery so it won't reoccur down the road. Hope Im back to shooting very soon.

Hope you heal quickly.  That condition sure sounds like a pain in the butt.

Git er done... if it can recur, might as well have to heal once and be done then periodically!

This too shall pass... course, sittin on the john might be problematic for a bit, post surgery, eh?

Remember after any surgery, softeners are your friend!!!
