So after a few medical issues the last yr, My fingers hurt like heck shooting, Need to find  thicker glove, Anyone know of a good one, for more finger protection, I Like the full palm style glove with deep finger pockets for the feel, But will try whatever to keep me shooting and help my hand..

Mr. fingers

I like my American leathers BigShot. I have psoriatic arthritis. I went to this glove, from a Damascus and I never get sore fingers the crossover I hear is a good one too.
Black widows super pdq also looks like it would have good protection. Although none of these are full palm they would be good choices.
I don't know what it is but my arthritis has been really bad lately.

X2 on the big shot glove. I had one and they are thick. I just prefer a tab. EW Bateman makes a good thick tab too, if your not stuck on a glove.

Steelhead

I like the American leather gloves as well and used them a lot.

Not sure what type string grip you use?But Its possible a deep hook on the string may help your sore fingers.

I used to shoot more off the finger tips years ago and it eventually led to sore fingers.Tendons ligaments etc.

I have  used a deep hook now for quite awhile and its very strong and my fingers feel a lot better.Way less stress on fingers and hands

I use a double thick Cavalier Elite cordovan tab these days

Basic Instinct

I will look at the American leather gloves, I do not use a deep hook and know that's part of the problem, but have a heck of a time getting to my anchor point if I do. May need to spend time changing form a bit

E.W. Bateman makes a double cordova glove that ic very protective. I have one and love it.

x3 for American Leathers gloves. I use their Crossover model made from kangaroo leather.

I think the type of leather in the American Leathers glove makes a difference.  When I used to shoot heavy bows, I tried the various types they had at the time, and found that buffalo leather seemed to provide the most finger protection.

I would give a tab a try. I have a Spigarelli and it's great. I use a deep hook. I've always found it interesting to learn that some draw with just the tips of their fingers. I had never had any real instruction when I first started but just gripped the string with a deep hook since it just felt so natural. Lot more control drawing that way, at least for me. Give that a try also.

What Terry said about deep hook. I use the PDQ from Black Widow and it works great for me.

Dan a gentleman just listed a new product in the Sponser Classfieds. Its called the Talon.A wrist assisted tab it says. Its an aid for folks that are having issues with finger soreness and arthritis etc.Just thought I would give you a headsup and anyone else who may want to take a look.

Sam McMichael

I used to pull a 78# bow using the pads of my fingers rather than a deep hook. It really bothered my fingers, even though I developed some very hard callouses. I finally started using a deeper hook, and as Terry indicated, it helped in more ways than one.

Hermon

This may be a dumb request, but could someone post a picture of a "deep hook"?  Just how deep do you go?

ksbowman

I go to the first bend/crease in from your finger tips.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

Hermon

Ben, that is what I do too but didn't know if the was considered as deep.

Blessed One

I have loved the black widow super gloves. Stopped all my finger pain.

Here's something that this guy developed because of arthritis so he could shoot again.
