If you can find some of the older GT75/95's that spined .250, and some full length Easton XX75 2216's you should be good to go.

Gently heat the 2216 shaft with a heat gun, and then slide it over the carbon shaft. You have now in essence made a heavy FMJ style arrow. If the GT shaft is a little too short, it's ok because you will be using the 2216 insert.

If you can't find 32" 2216's, cheat out the last inch with a heated/glued footing of 2413 shafting over the 2216, and use 2413 inserts.

Interesting problem.

Is the spine deflection a linear equation?  I mean if a 50 pound bow requires a .500 deflection, would a 100 pound bow requires .250 deflection?

Because obviously at some point the deflection would be reduced to zero.

I had some heavy surewoods that I shot in my bows up to 115# that flew well but they are hard (near impossible) to find anymore. Now I use a carbon gt 75/95 tucked inside of an autumn orange aluminum. With 225 grains out front and some glue inside they fit the bill in my heavier Hills.

A 6 strand skinny string will really boost the performance on that baby.     :goldtooth:

Using a gold tip Big game 100 footed with a 2213 or tighter a 2215 glued with epoxy would give something around 200# in static spine and 21+ gpi arrow. Enough room to use a heavy point an a finish arrow in the 1000 grain !

That would be cool to shoot.  I have shot a 100# longbow and I can draw ( but did not get a chance to shoot) a 150#  longbow   but have not seen a recurve of that stature.

I just built a hammer head heavy weight with is a 190 spine on my spine tester. I used a ABS brass insert at 75 grains a 315 point and glued in a 9/32 125 field tip into the back of the insert. Total weight came in at 1038 grains

I watched a video of a gentleman that was going to hunt africa with a 125 lbs bow, he combined two matched inside and outside diameters sharts together to get spine.  think they were around 700 grains.  can't remember name, maybe someone here will remember.
