Going to get some 2117's (I think) are their any real world difference between these types of aluminum shafts?  I have some real old xx75 arrows that came with an old bow.  They seem fine. I have not had the chance to get a look at the legacy shafts.

Hoyt Pro Medalist 70" 37lbs @28
Darton Trailmaster 75lbs @28

I think they are the same alloy. The finish is different and you will have to glue on the nocks.

If you are going to get new shafts in 2117, you may already know of eastons Game getters. The 400 size is the same as 2117. My boys both shoot that same shaft, and they are proving to be much tougher then the old style easton game getters, and have surpassed my expectations. They dont break the bank either, which makes it nice. Even the Game getters will be more consistent then wood by far, and anymore I love and shoot wood exclusively and successfully.  I dont think there is a spits worth of difference in the XX75 line as far as material. (Camo hunters, legacy)

The real old XX75 and the legacy will be very close. The XX75 denotes the material. When selecting for strength you want to know the temper. Look at a Easton chart in the footnotes. I think the legacy are 96,000 and the Gamegetters are less. The higher the strength the less likely they bend. But they can snap rather than bend. X7 which is 100,000 snap if they hit a glancing blow like on a tree.
If your not stump shooting or real rough on arrows the new Gamegetters are more than adequate. I use the old ones and unless I hit rocks they hold up fine.

I know my boys are tempting fate with the game getters, but just to speak of the shafts abilities, they have stump shot, and roved with the same 2 arrows with judo points several times now. I cant say how many times I thought they would most certainly be toast by glancing through the timber off things...but its not been the case. Too my much surprise, they have held up. One day.....i know!

WESTBROOK

The Gamegetters, Legacy and camo hunters are all the same shaft just different colors, all 96,000 psi.

the Tributes are XX75 but not 96,000 rated
