The problem with the get a room plan is that there likely will be no rooms available.  If there is any possibility of delaying the trip by a day you will likely save yourself from a huge headache.

I don't have any personal experience with snow in those states but I am almost certain that it takes them longer to recover than it does northern folk!

Last year when went to BigJim's to hog hunt. We had 14inches on the ground. Which fell during the night. We drove 35mph on interstate and didn't get of snow until we about hit the Tennessee and Georgia line. Just be safe and if you can let a plow truck pass you and follow behind at good distance. If they are throwing salt. It'll give ya traction.

Think it over. You have to go through mountains, unless you go west of the Mississippi. AND everyone else will be pulling off to stay the night! Been there, done that. Even hotel parking lots will be a mess. Do wish you the best.

Takes longer than 30-45 minutes to stop and get a burger.  Getting stuck on an interstate due to snow or wreck can cause hours.  Figure at least a day for the plows to clear the main roads.  If you can get behind where this storm has been, that's the way to go, IMO.  Drive safe, have a great hunt!

achigan is right, the video of 75 this morning looked like an 18 wheeler parking lot, 35 mile one. Wish you well, when I a guy has a hunt planned it is hard to cancel....

It's been a beautiful trip!  Just passing Tennessee on 75 south.

Thanks for all the responses.  These states certainly have been hit with more snow than normal.  We hit a little coming through Kentucky but it's behind us.it looks like the national guard have been working tirelessly on bad drivers. Kudos to their efforts.

Killie, they only had about a foot and only about 6 inches on the road for about 100 miles.  Not bad... Only one slow down due to a couple jacknifed tractor trailers. Hopefully our luck continues on the hunt.

Way to go Charlie. You're my hero. Where will you be hunting? Making final arrangements for a hunt with Beaunaro in FL for the end of March. I hate this stuff. 6:13 PM and still snowing.
