I can tell you one thing! i have owned over 100 longbows and my APACHE is the one i kept great guy Awesome craftmenship IMO the best longbow out there!

I have two Apaches and one on order. They are absolutely one of the smoothest bows I have ever experienced. However, right on its heels is a Treestick bow I have from Acadian Woods. These are definitely my favorite bows!!!

I've had a Caddo for a while now and it cannot be replaced.  Yes, recurves are faster, actually a few longbows I've shot were a few fps faster; and, I shoot better scores on the 3d course with a recurve.  But when I need to make a shot on a game animal, this Caddo has a knack for slipping a 2117 completely through any animal that gets in front of me!!  It's so silent, I've been able to take follow-up shots on deer and hogs.  Roy sells mostly Apache, Aztec, and Cherokee bows these days and probably for good reasons.  They are a bit smoother and maybe 1 or 2 fps faster than the Caddo.  If you want a dead silent, accurate, beautiful, trustworthy, killing machine; pick one that looks good to you and go forth.

Hey Ed, glad to see your still shooting the stickbows! I think you'll enjoy shooting a longbow, I went back and forth but always ended up with a longbow in the end. Good Luck this season, missed you guys at some of the local shoots, hope all is well- we will want to see pics of your new bow oh and by the way someone recently stated it's easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission! I smell an order comin!!
