Chippawa or Lonewolf,Which is quieter?Any pros or cons on either?

Both are really nice... I use them both, but I do prefer the Lone Wolf or XOP stand over the Chippewa. You can use the Lone Wolf with quick hang setup OR the Batwing Offset bracket. I prefer the batwing because it really locks the stand in tight, even if the tree is crooked or slightly leaning. I believe it packs more conveniently with the Lone Wolf sticks than the Chippewa. I think it's more adjustable and quiet... All that being said, the Chippewa Wedges tight on straighter trees and does allow back lean adjustment. If you left the chain or strap sets up where you want them, the Chippewa goes up quick and easy...

I have both. I'm a pretty big guy and they are  well made and "comfortable" stands. They both attach soundly to different types of tress. I usually set up and prefer my Chip in a pine tree and the LW in any tree. Both stands lock onto the trees easily enough and are super quiet.  The LW's platform covered in ice is less likely to be slippery, whereas the Chip can get a little slippery. I think the LW is a little more difficult to spot in a tree, which is a good thing--JMO. I really love both of these stands, but if I had to choose only one it would be the Lw. But dang, those Chips are nice!

Not one of the ones mentioned, but you can get a great stand from hawk stands for close to half of what you can get a lone wolf for. I have hunt d from a lonewolf a few times and, in my opinion, they are terribly uncomfortable. I much prefer my leverage stand.

I kinda like my Chip.  Works well for me.  Haven't bought another treestand since buying that guy a long time ago.

Found LW style to be more versatile. Just one example- I like the single vertical post and V-bracket as it fits on all sizes of trees (very small to huge).  The single post also allows for maneuvering with limbs ( like in cedar trees where I like the added limbs or crooked trees).  I also can add an extension to the vertical post making the stand fit much more custom/comfortable.

The Chip is incredibly solid but needs a trunk big enough and if too big, it will not fit the rubber bumpers.  I want to get in the right tree for the hunt- not hunt for a tree.

Tim,  how are you hunting with them?  carry in each hunt or leaving in for the season/long periods?

Carry in,they wouldn,t be there if let for a while.

If you are carrying in and carrying out do yourself a favor and check out the muddy vantage.  Very happy with mine.  I love the ease of the bracket system.

If I were still hunting and able to hunt from above I'd be using my "Screaming Eagle" treestands built by Paul Brunner. I also had a newer Boss that was made by the new owners with three extra hangers. I'm sure some must remember the advertisement for the "Screaming Eagle" that shower a VW Bug hanging from it. Care to try that with your newer stands?
