my centaur bow ive been waiting a year for is coming up soon I need to decide 58 in. or 60 in I draw 27 in and I want to shoot 48# also triple carbon limbs foam core or not  if anyone has shot or has a 58 in or 60 in any input would help thanks joe

get the 58", if your draw is 27".  I have a 60" and draw to almost 30.. man is it sweet!!! You will not be upset with your decision!

Mine is 48#@27" 58". Perfect length.

I would get the 58" for your your draw. I draw 25" so I went with the 56" and I love it. I would think at 60" that bow would be super smooth. You will be happy with either.

Don't think you could go wrong with either length..
My son shoots a 58" chimera 46@27,it's a shooting machine..

58"

58 will give you more of the bow's energy, and have loads of room to spare for a 27" draw.

60 will be smoother and softer than warm butter, but a 60 is designed for like a 30 or 31 draw. I had a 60" at my 28" draw,
and the bow was nowhere near it's peak.

I have to agree with everyone else. At a 27" draw, I would go with a 58" bow. The 58" is good to 29".

And we've all missed one obvious reference so far; you can call Jim Neaves and ask him!

I have a 58" @ my draw length of 26". You will love it.

I have a 58"  50@27". It shoots really hard and quite.  You cant go wrong either way.

thanks everyone I have talked with jim he has said 58 real nice shooter but all my longbows I have are 60in I'm gonna go with the 58 in cannt wait to shoot thatsucker

Would like to state that the only bow that I have moved which I sincerely miss is my 62" Centaur DM T/D...moved it in order to fund a NZ hunt.

I draw approximately 28"s and loved my 62"r. The DM 58"r, at the same approximate draw weight and same grip was amazingly nearly as smooth. Twice after a moderate session, when practicing at short range, I didn't realize that I had the 58"r in hand instead of the 62". The personally significant draw back was restricted to both my accuracy and consistency with the 58"r. Twenty yards was my limitation and at 25 yards, most often, my groups were far less than desirable.  My competence level, accuracy and consistency extended to 50 yards with the 62'r...DOUBLE!

Effective hunting ranges constantly change as dictated by the complete hunting scenario including the animal's current demeanor and the hunter's stress level.  My effective hunting ranges and how I setup are significantly closer than my personal competency levels on the range. The 58"r was providing me too many restrictions and lack of confidence.

Please try to absorb my experience as what it is?...  An individual's experience that is obviously not shared by all.

I guess people who are better archers than I am could tell the difference.   But If you  put one in my hand and didn't tell me which was which I very much doubt I could tell the difference.

I have two Recurves by the same bowyer, a 60" and s 62" and other than the grips are a little different (on purpose) I couldn't tell the difference.  

Plus,  I had a 58" long bow that when strung was longer than my 60" recurve.  Generally speaking, I just tend to go to the 60" bows as my standard.

As started above, I would go with the bowyer's  suggestion.  One of my favored bows is a Blacktail and with my draw length the bowyer suggests a 62" bow.  However, I bought a used 60"
And love it!  Maybe if I shot a 62" I would see the difference, but ignorance is sometimes bliss.

Scott, that experience leaves me thinking. Impressive difference.

My draw is 28" and I have shot a 58",60" and 62" Centaurs. All were great, but I like the 62" the best. Do not get me wrong,a 58" Centaur will still be the most awesome bow you've shot!

I like a 56" centaur for a 28" draw. I've had all lengths centaurs except a 62". Jim is a little conservative with his bow length to draw length ratio recommendations. The 56" didn't stack at 30".

At close range meaning 20 or less I could shoot the 58" .I draw 27" and can tell a huge difference in the forgiveness between 58"-62" bows. I would rather loose a bit of fps and keep the stability. 62" for me. RC
