field point weight??

Decided on a 165gr, broadhead with a 75gr. steel adapter for total of 240 up front.Question is which field point to use 225gr. or 250gr.??

I make custom weight field points for situations like that,using glue on field points and steel adapters.An example would be:a 100 gr adapter,125 gr field point and 15 grs of lead in the broadhead adapter's cavity.

250, if your concerned with the 10 gr. Hit it with a dremel grinding bit and take ten grains off the tip. Cut the rest similarly and you should be pretty close on all of em.

I have some nominally 100 grain steel adapters that actually weigh 105 grains...if you check you might find yours to be over too

Don't forget you glued the broadhead so that covers the extra weight for your points. I personally do not worry about 15-20 over or under. Never seems to make a difference under 30yards to me.

Weigh your finished broadheads and then use the 250gr field points. Grind them down to match the weight.

I've put my target points in a drill press and held a file against them beveling either the back end or front end until I hit my target weight. Removing ten grains is no big deal. Just keep your grain scale handy.

You can get some brass washers that 5gr and put 2 on a 225 fp and youll only be by 5gr
