New seat for hunting

I usually use a Torges style seat when hunting. While at a sporting goods store the other day, I saw this turkey seat set out on the floor. My friend has a similar one but has too much recline to it. This one is more upright. I plopped my butt down it the seat and.... wow is that comfy! The sales guy gave me a discount. I hunted in it yesterday.

Cool! I'm not good at sitting on the ground like that. I too am interested in seeing a better pic of the chair itself.

I have a bag chair that seems to be sized for a large child. It has no arm rests of any kind, and it give good back support for this type chair. I haven't seen this on sale recently. I don't care for the 3 cornered seats as they just are not comfortable to me, and I have tried a lot of them.

The chair is the Browning Strutter. It is for turkey hunting, but works good for my type of ground hunting for deer. Only thing is I needed a thin hot seat under my butt because the wind made me cold through the mesh.

My son uses one, but I find that those low seats are a bit difficult to get in and out of for my old bones. I have found it is easier to use just a butt pad, a Nifty seat,a strap on Grizzly tree seat, and if I really want to go for a long sit a HuntMor. Of course it also can be more difficult for some to shoot that low to the ground. The problem I have with my butt pad, when I get that close to the ground, it is just one short flop over, to be in that perfect nap in the woods position. Don't do that, you will wake up with all kinds of animals just standing there watching you sleep, vultures circling over head and you won't remember where you are or how you got there.

check out the nifty seat and be able to shoot 360 degrees,, any direction while sitting straight up or sitting on the lean to get the arrow by a tree in the lane it doesn't matter.

The Nifty seat is "nifty" for about an hour, maybe. After that it becomes "not so nifty", especially if you're getting on in years. Still a good seat, but not for long sits at all.

I got a seat like that. I use it in my Guide 119 canoe and for camping. May have to give it a try in the deer woods too. RC

Foxbo,,, I won't lie I know the feeling but try a rolled up wool scarf draped over the middle its all the difference.. Nifty is my favorite "hunting seat" but the #1 seat and best deal of all time when it comes to being able to quietly shoot in any direction from my experience is a upside down 5-gallon bucket painted drab!

Never thought about trying a wool scarf, but I did try a two inch foam pad. It was much more comfortable, but just another thing to take along. So, it gets left behind most of the time.

Here's the most comfortable ground seat I've ever tried and it swivels too. I killed a nice six pointer from it this past season. I figure I'm getting too old to be uncomfortable.
