After 11 days in a tent and dealing with other hunters on the public land I was I on.

I went looking for an overlooked spot, boy did I find it.  Very high winds while I was scouting, I saw a rack in the tall grass 7 yards from me.

I got down and looked him over he was laying quartering away from me.

His was not a high scoring deer but old with big mass.

I had to crawl closer to him to get around some tall grass to be able to shot, so this put me at 4 yards and the wait began.

2 minutes later he stands up and the rest is history. Shot him and he went 50 and fell over.

The old buck was a warrior he was missing his right eye which kinda leads me to believe that's why he never saw me, that's the side I was on.

He also had a hot doe bedded infront of him I did not know about till after the shot

I can email the pics to someone if they would post the pics for me??

There are old deer and then there are very old deer. Your deer is definitely in the latter category. Congrats and thanks for sharing.   :notworthy:
