It all started back in September. I was hunting across the river in NJ at a place I rarely hunt. I stayed a little too late and had to hurry home to get my kids from school. Well, in my hurry, I left my bow on the roof of the car!    

I only realized it half way home. After picking up my kids, I returned looking for the bow. I found my shooting glove only, no bow. I went back several times hoping to see it along the side of the road. I even knocked on some doors of the locals to see if anyone had seen or heard anything about it. No luck.

Skip ahead to last night. On FB a fellow named Randy Harrison sends me a message. He is not on my friend list, but we have a mutual friend or two. He says, I see you like Mahantango bows. I have one for sale". Well, I see the picks, and I can't believe it! Actually it took several hours for it to sink in. He said it was Osage and Bocote.

I woke up at 5am in a sweat! It was my bow! Only it isn't what he thinks. I message him and share my story. I explain that the bow is not Osage, but Yew and Wenge with goat horn tips and a Flo Orange string. He was awake and sent a reply right back.

He told me my story checked out. The guy who brought it in said he found it on the road. My description was perfect and he wanted me to get it back in my hands ASAP. "Can you come today"? I was on the road.

I crossed the river to NJ and made the 25 mile or so trip down to Randy's place. He came right out with the bow. It was surreal. I Praised The Lord.

Randy is a member here, and sells Trad Archery bows and arrows from his home in Washington, NJ.

This was my go to bow, and it was a hard lesson losing it. I can't say enough about how fine folks like Randy do good around here.

Turns out, he would have not even mentioned it to me except he saw me post about shooting Mahantango bows.

Thanks again Randy!     Now to fix up the road rash.

I had a similar thing happen awhile back and it sure does feel good when a lost bow finds it's way home, thanks to good people of course. Glad you got her back Jerry.

Congrats Jerry on being reunited with your bow. Trust me,I know the feeling. I was reunited with a bow after 16 years. Kudos to you Randy for being a stand up guy to get the bow back to the rightful owner. Believe me there are some real good folks within the Trad community.
