My only advice...take your time. This is the best place to learn. Don't spend too much money right away thinking you know what you want. A lot of these guys here on this site have been where you are and can help you tremendously. I'm sure you'll be able to link up with somebody near you who has a lightweight bow for you to try and get you shooting right from the start.  

As was stated above, just start reading everything you can and ask any question that comes to mind. The people here are always willing to answer you. Lastly, enjoy the journey, there's not much better than watching arrows fly with friends.
