All the stuff that has been said above. On a long sit I bring the works, sandwich, chips, cookies, apple, banana, and a thermos of coffee, plus some snacks.

Been carrying Snickers bars in my day pack for 35 years of deer hunting.  When the deer's down I unwrap and eat the bar (shaving a bit on the deer and giving thanks) and calm my nerves before the dressing out.  Then I have an added energy boost for the drag out.

But for lunch - PB&J and an apple.

Mr. fingers

Been using flour tortillas instead of bread  it holds up better than bread in the pack and making little wraps pb&j or peanut butter and banana. Turkey and Swiss cheese are my daughters favorite. Il also take some salty sweet granola bars.

Hey Ron P, I hunted with a guy named "Skinny Joe" years ago. He was thin. He would bring an old Boy Scout type canvas backpack with a frame and carry the following for a day hunt - No less the 5 sandwiches filed in a tupperware container, A quart thermos of tea, a quart thermos of soup and an entire Entenmann's cake in the box and a flask of White Russian. We would also stop for breakfast at a dinner on the way to our hunting location. Every weekend he left the woods with no food asking if anyone had anything left to eat for the ride home. True story!

It's just not hunting without a couple of small Snickers bars in my pack.
It's a good day for something.

Dried bananas are my favorite. Maybe not for everyone.

Every year I make a big bag of mix with m&m's,honey roasted peanuts, raisens.and sunflower seeds. It's my staple for an all day hunt and it gets you through the day and through the season. And always coffee.

J. Holden

I like a PB&J sandwich.  I also grab some fruit snacks, cheese and crackers and a Clif bar and a bottle of water.

But, I made some almond bark.  I melted some 75% cocoa dark chocolate (heart healthy) with some mesquite smoked almonds, dried cranberries and sunflower seeds.  Laid it all out on some wax paper and put it in the fridge.  Now I have some healthy almond bark.  Just grab a chunk and throw it in your mouth, mmm....

That almond bark that That J. Holden made sounds great.  I'm gonna try that, thanks for sharing that recipe.
