Anyone working on a Christmas present?

I seem to get so caught up in making arrows and other daily chores that I don't look ahead much. As I was working on arrows yesterday I looked up and saw some kids shafts that I have set aside to make into arrows for my grandson and granddaughter. BIG reminder that Christmas is not that far off. I think shooting arrows on Christmas morning with my grandkids and their dad sounds pretty great.

I haven't started yet but I'm planning on making a basket quiver for the Primitive Archer Christmas Trade.

I would really like to get my father set up with a traditional outfit.

As of this year, he is retired and I know he'd enjoy being able to shoot in the back yard. Just recently he has shown an interest in hunting, more than when I was growing up. I blame it on his work consuming all of his time. Now that he is stress free, he's always wanting to go hunting or fishing.

I know it would bring him closer to nature, which is what he's been missing for so many years while working hard to provide for the family. If I could give one gift, that would be it.

That sounds like a great idea! If you make those kids arrows, I'm sure they will have the best looking kiddo arrows in the state!!!

And I am a very last minute Christmas shopper!

I'm getting ready to start some leather for a Christmas gift. Can't discuss it here though. I'm also refinishing a little Bear Ranger for my kids to shoot. Not really a Christmas present, but I may try to build my son some arrows to go with it.

Almost done with a bow drill fire kit for a buddy of mine. Just need to get some cordage around for it and it will be complete.

Working on really super neat elk antler Storm Eagle with rattlesnake apointments for my son . Will. Be ordering some arrows form someone Haha . pretty quick.

Gotta get this one handled out when I get down south at our farm in Aiken...should make a good present. Since my shoulder is now fixed, I'm getting ready for a nice winter with some forging, fishing, and bowhunting...tippit

Dad's knife/sheath is all finished up. It's my second knife I've ever made. When dad heard I was getting into knife making he asked for one from my first run in any design/materials I wanted to do. He offered to pay me for it (which absolutely is not going to happen because he deserves a gift), but he has no idea this is coming for Christmas. I hope he likes it.

Knife: 1/10" Elmax, scandi ground, 4" blade, woodlore handle in Thuya burl over ivory G10, Sally Martin mosaic pins

Sheath: 9/10oz leather, two toned in natural and black to compliment the brightest and darkest tones in the handle, two piece welt allowing for a functional drain hole, dangler design to hang below an un-tucked shirt or jacket, dangler loop has snaps for easy donning/doffing of the knife without removing belt, D-ring I cold forged into a twisted pattern out of brass, it was given basic tooling and double stitched with a saddle stitch. It's been sealed, treated, and covered in light beeswax so it is highly water resistant and would almost require being submerged to actually get wet.
