Im sitting at work, 2nd shift, making a list of stuff to pack in the jeep. Tomorrow I'm going to work a half shift and then drive 4 hours to family hunting camp.

I just realized how excited I was to be making a simple list on a 3x5 card. So I thought I would share it with all you arrow-heads out there.

I moved three hours away from family six years ago. I've been hunting alone locally and doing fine. Life is busy and money is tight this time of year, so I havn't been to camp in six years.

I'm turning 49 in Janurary, so my Dad and uncles are in there 70's. A man only gets so many Novembers, ya know.

So,anyway. Life is busy and money's tight this year too, but I'm going to camp for one weekend to hunt with my dad, my uncles, and my brother.

I'm making a list, and I'm wicked excited, almist giddy!!

Just thought I'd share.

Good luck, God bless,

Scott

Like you say, only so many Novembers on our calenders so enjoy family time. Sounds like a good time ahead and good luck.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Enjoy Scott,  I dont think you will ever regret making more time to hunt with family at Camp. Money and time will most likely forever be tight.

Have a  great weekend!
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Good for you.  Making time for family is everything.  I know a fellow that gets so caught up in his own hunting that he has not hunted with his father in years.  His dad is a three time cancer survivor at 74 years old.   I often wonder how much his trophies will mean to him once his dad is gone.

Glad you are getting to see him.  As excited as you are, I bet his heart is pounding at the thought of your arrival.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I just got to work at 3:30pm, 4 more hours and I'm on my way to camp. The jeep is packed and my wonderful wife packed me enough food for a trip to the north pole. I'm only going for 2 days  :)
