I am thinking of ordering one of their classic longbows? Anyone who has shot one want to chime in with some input? Pictures from Dwyer longbow owners would be nice!

They are great bows. I have a 66" 55# original and have a lighter weight one on order for 3D shoots and having fun in the off season. For the money a hard bow to beat.

They are very good bows. I have 2. both 64" long one is 56lb and one is 65lbs. I really love the grips!

Cody, I thought that was the one you ordered. Did you go with one of the other models instead?

My son has the Defiant model and it is a beautiful piece of art. Dwyer tips are the most artful design I have seen on longbows. It has bamboo limbs and is soooo smooth to draw. Feels 10lbs lighter than it is. It is a great bow.

I think the ones that have them really like them, cuz they rarely show up in the classifieds.

I have a 64-inch, 56# Dwyer longbow.  All bamboo lams and myrtlewood veneers.  One of the smoothest drawing bows I've ever shot.  Also one of the most stable.  Workmanship and finish is also top notch.  It's in the top five of anything I've shot or owned, and I've shot or owned most of them.

Great people -great bows!!!A 66" 51#@28 & 66" 42#@28.Both have action boo cores,super shooters. Leland

The only picture of my Dwyer is one with a doe I shot this year. First time posting pics so I hope this works

Wow that Defiant is looking very tempting!

I have a Defiant and a Dauntless from Dwyer.  Handles are a big plus in my opinion.  They fit so well ... awesome!!!  Also, the limb tips are look the best of any bow maker I have ever seen.  Seriously, I just love to look at my bows, they are just plain sexy!!!  I have a defiant that is 51 @ 28.  It shoots a 530 grain arrow at 173 FPS.  It is just plain old red elm.  I have a Dauntless that is 54 @ 28 and that is much faster.  Again, red elm limbs.  If you get a bow from Dave - have him build one with bamboo core, well, it just plain smokes!!!

They are very smooth shooting, have good speed, no hand shock and just feel right in you hand.  He makes a GREAT bow.  Lastly, give him a call, he is super guy to talk to  www.Dwyerlongbows.com

I've had the opportunity to try one from Dave's stock bows, but the one I tried was just a bit to light (I think now it was just my lack of knowledge concerning longbows).  Long story kept short: EXTREMELY NICE BOWS. Will recommend to anyone the Dwyer original longbow.

I tried the 66", 45# at 28 bamboo one.  One of the quietest bows I've ever shot.  Good price too!

Excellent bows. I am on my 3rd one. It's the Dauntless. Would love to have a 66" original longbow about 55-60@28.

I have a 66" Original #58 @ 27",but draw 28",so it's right about #60 with my draw.Great bow,love everything about it.It was my first longbow,and have since built one and bought 2 others,but it's still my favorite.

I also have a 66" original 75# @ 28",Great shooting bow,Pretty much the only bow I have shoot for the last five or six years now.Good Hunting!.

If this tells you anything......I killed 4 deer this year all with Dwyers....I tried a bunch of other bows and I keep going back to to the Dwyers. I am thinking about ordering a 62" Dauntless at 60lbs. You will not be disappointed. If you get one.

Bucksnort101

I too am on my third and will probabbly be getting a forth in the next couple of years.
First was a Defiant, Great little bow. Then I shot the Dauntless and ended up buying two of them. My go to bow is not a 64" Dauntless. Very smooth drawing boe.w Quiet, as long as you keep an eye on your brace height. Had problems drawing my other bows due to an old shoulder injusry, but the Dauntless never really gave me any problems.
Will be ordering an Original Dwyer Longbow next so I have at least on of each.
Excellent craftsmanship, and great people.
P.S. Those tips on the Dwyers are awesome works of art by themselves.

Ghost Dog

Outstanding bows in all respects, and very reasonably priced. I have four of their original longbows; 2@66" and 2@68". Both lengths are equally smooth and fast. The craftsmanship is unbeatable.

Steelhead

had the 66 inch original and the Defiant.Verynice bows and as mentioned his tip work is the best.
