Anyone shooting a 60" Static recurve with a longer draw length. Say 29.5-30" draw. Looking at a couple Stalkers that are 60"
Thanks for your help,
Ed

Ed, currently shooting a SS static tip recurve from Kirk at Bigfoot, a sponsor. 60" AMO with a 29.5" draw. No stacking or finger pinch. The limbs a very stable and she is very quick and quiet. With the G-10 ibeam I like the extra mass in the 3 piece takedown.I like it so much I have a set of SS ILF limbs being built by him.

Quite a few, Ed. Give, South a call if you are interested in a Stalker. He will steer you right.

Hey Ed,  I have no stack with my 60" Coyote at 29.5.  She's a shooter. Put one of Allens' Fury strings on her.  Nice. Took a burger buck with her a couple of weeks ago.  Good luck to you.  Jeff

Kind of new to this but what defines a static limb design.

I believe South may be busy or hunting. I emailed him , I'm sure he'll get back to me.

South is in Colorado this week on business. Call him on his cell phone listed on his web site.

We may be talking apples and oranges, but I have no trouble drawing my 58" RER XR with static tips way back behind my ear with no stacking. Normal draw to anchor is only 28 + a hair, but it keeps going way on back with no problem.

Static limbs maintain a stiff curve at the tips when drawn, unlike active tips that will uncurl as the bow is drawn to full draw. Static tips tend to be quieter due to the string more or less wrapping and unwrapping around the tips instead of slapping into the limbs as an active limb may do. It's close to longbow quiet. The limbs also tend to be more stable because they are so stiff at the tips.

Hope that helps. Good question. I can remember wondering myself. Now I shoot a static limb recurve and wouldn't go back to a working or active tip.

I shoot a one piece Cari-Bow Tuktu EX at 30 inches...that bow demands my effort but then gives it right back...61 pounds at that draw length for 155fps with a 900 grain arrow

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

I have one of his static tips and it's a sweet shooter. Mine is 64" though. I wish I had gotten a 62" bow for my 30" draw length.

I'm shooting a 60" Sasquatch SS, I draw 30.5
The bow is smooth, quiet, and fast.
I do notice a steeper string angle than I am use to from my long bows (68") but that's unavoidable.  There's no finger pinch, just a different angle.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the bow.

Big Ed

I am ordering a 62" but traded for a 60" to get me by until mine is built. I know his longbow limbs on the Coyote riser work very well. The 62" longbow limbs I shot are hard to beat! For me my Widows and Javaman bows are really hard to put down until I shot the Stalker. It just works for me. If you haven't tried one , do your self a favor and do so.
South is a top notch person as well.
