Took a nice doe a few days ago. Was my thirty first deer taken since I turned 70. Have been bowhunting since 1952. First kill was 1956 and have taken one or more., except for two years, every year since. I only bowhunt. Have been blessed with some pretty good hunting ground and am not what you would call a trophy hunter, filling the freezer has always been my first priority. Good luck to all of you geezers. Way to go, Denny!

I hope to be bowhunting up till the day the Good Lord calls me home!

I shot a doe this morning. Walked in/out. Then went and got the four wheeler. Drove right to her. Even a doe is still tough to load when you are alone and a geezer. I gutted her and noticed not five feet away was a tree maybe 8" in diameter that went straight up for 8 feet then went horizontal for a foot, then vertical again. So I put a rope around her neck, threw the rope over the horizontal "shelf" and tied the other end to the quad hitch. Then I drove away slowly. She went right up perfectly. Then I tied a second rope off to hold her there then untied the first rope. Then I turned the quad around and drove right under her. Cut the rope and PLOP... right on the rack.. first shot. All loaded up.. And people think I'm dumb.  bw
