my blinds and stands are set, and i'm impatiently waiting on October 25th!!!

got a huge feeling i'm going to score on opening day, and i'm getting antsy!

Yeah, I say that every year when the guys with really early seasons start posting pics and stories at the end of August!!!!

It will be here before you know it!

October 25th seems real late to me! When does your season end?

Good luck. I messed up on our opening morning and it has been frustrating ever since. It is often the little details that get you. My lower limb tip struck my stand and I overshot a "slam dunk" shot.

season in Florida panhandle zone starts October 25th and is over at the end of February or thereabouts.

i also live and hunt in South Alabama, which transitioned to the later October 25th opening, and closes now on February 10th. There's a 10 day closed period in December.

and i, too, have learned the importance of opening day. with such a long season, our deer are very pressured, and by the end of the season, they act like they all have PTSD. spooky as heck! you never get a shot at a relaxed, unaware deer around here after the first week or two. gotta make that first chance count!

I too thought Oct. 25 was a really late opening date but when I saw your closing date, I got jealous. We have a winter bow for the entire month of January so it's not too bad but it sure can be cold.

we have an early antlerless season starts Sept 1- ends Oct 1 then begins again Jan 5 and goes until March 31.....7 months of deer hunting.....too much for me!

I almost felt a pang of compassion until I saw where you're from. Last time I looked Bama's season was like 13 months long with no bag limit...don't want to hear any whining, lol!

Yeah we are lucky here in Kentucky! haha.

I am getting to where the heat doesn't bother me as much as the cold does. Glad first Saturday in Sept is our start date.

Its crazy how Florida is so spread out. Down here in my neck of the woods we start August 1st! We shut down for a month in Oct/Nov then start back up till Jan 3rd.

ya, ya but our season is already OVER. that sucks...
