I saw a u finish hickory long bow at 3 rivers.Has anyone had any experience with these bows.They're only 71 dollars,are they worth the time.I want to try a primitive bow to see if I like it.I believe they are made by Rudder bows.

I have a finished hickory bow that I got off E*** that is made by rudder bows....It's nothing fancy a basic well made bow.

I have one. It is a really nice bow. nothing fancy but it shoots good and the tiller is fantastic. Their customer service is top notch as well.   Mine is 55lbs. You can't really go wrong if its only 71 dollars. Sounds like a great deal!

Those You-Finish kits are fine ways to learn the tillering aspect of bow making and get yourself a shootable bow relatively quickly for a reasonable price. For only slightly more work and time and quite a bit less cost, you can do essentially the same by making a board bow with a red oak or hickory board from you local hardware store, or from almost any sapling or young tree behind the house, depending on your area.  But, as you probably know, the more raw material you begin with, the more time and effort required to get the bow.  With that in mind, those kits are excellent projects.

Nothing wrong with Hickory bows, it's how well you do tillering and finishing the bow that matters the most. Good way to get started for $71
