That's why I love hogs! Hunt em whenever I feel like it!  Been a slow summer for me this year tho with work. Only been out a couple times. Did have a sow with about 8-10 babies at 20 yrds tonight while I was hunting on the ground. Unfortunately no shot! But I did get some video!

Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Well Missouri opens on Sep 15 and I usually wait until Oct. to hit the woods. We have until Jan. 15 to hunt except 10 days in rifle season and then I buy a rifle tag. I do not like hunting warm weather.
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

We opened 9/15 but it's been too crazy hot and I'm too busy.  This changes tomorrow afternoon... I will bowhunt tomorrow!

Yep, calling for a rainy opener in PA on Saturday. I see an early dismissal at work on Monday to make up for it

I moved to Raleigh NC from Chattanooga TN for some seasonal work with the wildlife commission (aquatic wildlife) and I'm not going to get to hunt until November. NC season started on 9/12 and Tennessee started on 9/26. Can't afford to hunt here because of being a non resident and I can't afford to drive back home to hunt so I'm just waiting until the job is done.

Open this thursday, got a leftover tag for white doe only. Hunting from the ground along the creek bed

shooting 45 pound minute man, cedar arrows, 125 grain broad head.

I have been seeing a lot of activity in the creek, hoping for a  productive opening day!

I got out Monday afternoon for the first time.  I set up a new ladder stand and thought I would try a Wick - never used one before.

I still had almost four hours so I found a decent place next to a river bottom to post at.  Temp was so nice I didn't even take my jacket.  Big mistake.  With about two hours left I was shaking uncontrollably.  All I had with me was a poncho, so I wrapped that around me.

About twenty minutes later a doe and fawn went by at about twenty feet.  By the time I was ready to shoot they were already by me.  I got rid of the poncho before another doe and two fawns came by at the same distance, but no bucks.

I haven't, but I moved to Nevada, so I probably won't anytime soon.

Our opener is Sat but I'll be working but with Sunday hunting now an option on private land I'll go out then. Good luck to all and have a safe productive season.

This is the first time in a while I'll be out opening day. Ours starts tomorrow and I've taken the 1st and 2nd off. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Bowjunkie

Me. But I've got 4 consecutive weeks off coming Oct 15th and small game doesn't come until the 17th. No hurry.

We have been open for a month, but I have been so busy with work and family that I haven't been out. I have also been getting my daughter ready for her first hunt. However, I am planning on getting after them with a week or so.

Today is the last of our early archery deer season and I missed the early elk also.  I had to put in driveway additions and other family requirements.  I may still make the late season around thanksgiving.

I haven't been in the woods with my bow but a couple years ago I made a promise. I promised my Brittany that I would only bird hunt in October. Our bow season opened today. I'll try to get him out tonight after work. It gets better here around Halloween.
