Does anyone else have a problem with rain/water running down your tree, then down your tree tether right to you, soaking your clothes. I know you can attach the tether down low, but that's not reccomended for stopping a fall quickly.   :help:

I know last night it left the back of my neck exposed to the snow and wind! I hope our brothers will have a good fix for this!

VT-I had this problem years ago on a bear hunt.
The tether strap was acting like a funnel, dumping water right down my neck! I had a couple of long sleeved camo t-shirts with me, so I just tied one around the tree above the tie off point. T-shirt got soaked, but my neck stayed dry.

owlbait-from your description, I am guessing you are wearing your harness under your outer layer of clothing....at least I do. I picked up a fleece scarf that is brown (there are probably some available in camo) and I just wrap it around my neck, between my neck and tie off strap and tuck it down my hunting shirt. Really warm and quiet, as my strap sometimes caught on my shirt collar.
Something to consider-I watched a treestand safety video that recommended wearing the harness on the ouside of your hunting clothing to facilitate ease of rescue. Just got me to thinkin' a bit. Good luck and I hope these suggstions help you out. Mike

Thanks Mike,
I bought my harness used and I think the leg straps were shortened so I have to wear it underneath or they won't go around my legs! Maybe I can get another one next year that fits. This year is just about done for me. Thanks for the tips.

Killdeer

If the tree leans, you may do what tipi dwellers did. Put two sticks lengthwise (up and down) under the tether. It kept the water flowing down the tipi poles instead of soaking the liner and dripping on folks.

I don't know if this is applicable, but it may be worth a thought.

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
