Wish I had done this sooner!!  Ohio deer season starts tomorrow and while late September early October is really for my son, this will be my first year taking nothing but the longbow.

I really can't express the excitement and anticipation that I have right now.  I feel like I've come full circle, when I was a kid there were a lot of squirrels and rabbits that got "scared" in my neck of the woods.  I cannot wait for that first opportunity.

All the wheelies are officially gone, and the only negative part is that I lost a piece of property because the owner didn't want any wounded deer running his property.  We had a good discussion about longbows but I didn't try to persuade him, just figured he'll come around.  However, it did motivate me to scout new ground so I'm pretty excited about the new scenery as well.

Best of luck to all this upcoming year.

good luck to you guys.

Measure your hunt in experiences gained, not so much in critters dead. They will come sooner or later if you stay the course.

Traditional loses nothing to modern except maybe in average distance of shots taken.  A good hunter can get inside those averages all the time and count coupe.

Thanks guys. Great day today! Spent the evening in a blind with my son. I cherish those times.

Going to hit some public ground tomorrow. Will go in with the lone wolf and set up between some white oaks and a bedding area about 15 yards off a little bend in the trail.
