Well I've been holding off for a while as I have been shooting an aussie made recurve for the last 3 years and it fits me like a glove, but... for as long as the Black Widow PCH bows have been on offer I've had me a hankering for one!

So after some homework I'm going to place an order for one with the Asbel grip, 63# @ my 29" draw and a 60" bow.

My only problem is that I like both the Greybark with no white glass in it... AND the PCHX in Zircote with a little white glass pin stripe and Tiger Myrtle limbs...hmmmmm.

Help me out here guys with some pics to tip me over, either ways.

I had a Black Widow PCH X and then bought a Robertson Fatal Styk Z and the Widow went down the road..the Z is 10 times quieter, faster and the grip feels better then the Asbell grip, its longbow quiet..I know this doesn't help but I always wanted a Widow and when I got it it was really nice but never got it as quiet as I like bows.
My Widow was a beautiful bow with Tulipwood riser/limb veneers.

I have a PSA that is cross grain graybark with black instead of red glass. Looks cool to me.

Zircote is awsome for the riser, consider myrtle burl with zircote limb blocks and overlays. Maybe black glass with thin white accents. Good luck with your decision Al!

I am leaning towards that option Denny...

the PCH was one of my all time favorite widows. The greybark is actually a pretty bow.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have a PMA Gray bark, with out the red or white and I love it.  It is a natural camo in almost any environment.

My vote is zircote with tiger myrtle, but man that myrtle burl would look good also. Changed my mind go with the myrtle burl man this is as bad as trying to pick one out for me.   :)

I like the look of the greybark with very thin red glass in the riser, and placed very sparingly.  And I'd get it with no red in the tips.

The PCH is a great bow.  I love shooting them when I get a chance.  But I just don't shoot short bows well enough to justify purchasing one...
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Mine is a SAXS and not a PCH but is 60" AMO. I prefer the X models over the Graybark and Autumn Oak models because I am an admirer of exotic woods. The X models are a bit more expensive but in my opinion are worth the added expense. When it comes down to it one probably doesn't shoot much better than the other but it sure looks "purdy" carrying it through the woods or on the range.

The PSA is cut a little more past center than the PCH models. If that means anything to you.

Well, here are some photos... Actually, just got in from shooting it out the back - loved it! Tiger myrtle limbs, zircote riser, no red glass.

They're old photos... And, geez, my life has changed since shooting on my old school oval with my old dog... real "memory lane" stuff. But my bow is immaculate, and still shoots so sweet!

Just realised these were the first set of limbs that I got with the bow. A little problem developed with them, and I sent them back to Black Widow, who promptly replaced them with an even more beautiful set of tiger myrtle limbs.

Two of my favorites, but then there is Kingwood, Olive Ash, etc.... OK, I'm no help. Good luck with your new Widow, you'll be happy with your choice, no matter what it is.  :)

as close in price as they are get what you really want.    I have had greybarks and like them but always wish I had left the red and white out, there is a picture in the widow gallery here of one with that, and it really looks good.  I had a PAX zircote with myrtle burl limbs and zircote overlays instead of the standard black glass, and it was a beauty, but I didn't like the light weight of the PA and sold it. if I had it to do over again I would probably get another psa or pch with that same riser with either tiger myrtle, yew or myrtle burl limb veneers, check out that thread titled 'widow gallery" lots of very nice wood combos there..i agree on the asbell grip  ive had it on all my widows since 07 or so..

I'm not a pretty bow guy at all, but my PCHII with Asbell grip is rapidly becoming my favorite. I have had it about 2 months. Sooooo easy to shoot well with it.

I have a PCH with zircote riser and tiger myrtle limbs. With the asbell grip.  60"  47@28. Love the asbell grip and love the bow. I don't feel that mine is noisy at all, as per the complaint's that alot of people have with widow bow's.  Wool at the end of the strings and wool silencers. I have bought and sold quite a few bow's in the 3 years that i have had the pch, and it is not going anywhere.
