Mudd

This will be the 1st time in years that I will miss opening day here in Missouri.

Here's my excuse.

I was honored to be selected to join other WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans via the Central Missouri Honor Flight to make the trip to Washington DC.

I hope to gain something from making this trip.

I sat on the paperwork for almost 5 years because I wasn't confident I could handle standing at the wall.

I guess the only way I can make this hunting related is to give the reason why I wouldn't be there for "Opener".

God bless, Mudd

PS: Administrators I will understand if this gets pulled.

Mudd, some things are so important that missing opening day is o.k. Congratulations on making the trip. Thanks to you and all the other people who have protected our freedom so we could sit in the stand this morning.

Mudd, standing at that wall is damn tuff but worth it.

Ws able to take father (WWII) veteran before he passed way.  It was a very nice trip and very moving for him.  I live in the D.C area and they do a great job bring the vets in.

Mudd, I made the trip in '99 and although I haven't been back it was worth every minute. Emotions will come forth that have been bottled up for decades when you see your lost brothers etched on the wall.Welcome Home, brother.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

God Bess Mud thanks for your service you are why we get an opening day!

Mudd, can't think of a better reason to miss an opening day. The season is long. While there I lost friends and when the traveling memorial came to Jacksonville we spent some time there. For those who are unable to make the trip to D.C this is a good alternative.

Mudd, I have been to the Wall twice, and made way too many rubbings. Very emotional, but worth the trip. I would say enjoy your trip, but that isn't quite the right word.
