Tomahawk ss cracked

Tody while I was shooting my.tomahawk ss I noticed that my bow had a crack running from the corner of the shelf to the cut.out in the riser about a half inch.I'm a little over.2 weeks out until bows season is there anything that I can do its 4 years old????

I would check to see if theres a warranty still on it. If there is I wouldnt thing to it because it void the warranty. If not maybe the bowyer could fix it or tell you how.

Don't know if it can be fixed. I hope so. It just sucks when bows break!!!!!

I would say take it to a bowyer and see what they say.

Did you buy it new from 3 rivers? They have a limited lifetime warranty.
Even if not I'd still call them

I would also call 3 Rivers. Kind of a trickt spot for a crack. I hope you get it sorted.

Call 3 rivers and post a pic for us. If it runs vertical that can be fixed with Loctite 420. Horizontal cracks are rarely fixable.

If I understand where the crack is correctly, you could cut a crescent shape out of the riser and fit another piece of wood.

I had a longbow before that was narrow and developed a small crack about 1/4 perfectly in the corner where the shelf was cut into the handle. It was only in the glass... I shot some really really thin TiteBond into it with a syringe...let it harden..sanded smooth with emory cloth and it never came back or got worse.

Best bet is contact 3Rivers and let them check it out and make recommendations. Always best to give the bowyer a shot at repair or mitigation with your help if at all possible.

Yes, contact 3rivers first. It is however likely that this can be fixed if I understand the location as you describe.
This is a common place for bows to crack. When the shelf is cut out, it exposes end grain. If there was or is a fluctuation in Moisture content in the bow, this is where it will come and go and can result in a crack.

It should be sanded first and then blown clean with air pressure. Then carefully leach thin CA glue in to the crack and allow to dry. Continue to leach in the CA until crack is filled.
Now sand or file to clean up.

If no warranty and I'm reading it right,I've had success with a couple of I-Beam Bears by doing the Superglue thing along with drilling 1 or 2 holes through handle and epoxying tightfitting HARDwood dowels through handle,cutting off,sanding,sealing then covering with leather grip.
I'd never try to resell or trade it.They were around 50# and they are still going.
Your bow..your mileage may vary.
