Was out stumping the other day with field points. Took an overly ambitious shot at a small twig. Missed it and literally had to spend 20 minutes uprooting 5 square foot of grass to find my arrow. So I am glad these VPA small game point arrived this week. Just took them out for a test shoot. I must say they work great as a stumping point. Flies true and will never bury in grass. They sure seem devastating to small game as well. Not that I have done it before but I don't think many small game will survive a hit with this point. Overall I think these are good alternative to Judo points. Got to be careful when shooting groups though. What do you guys use for a stumping point?

I still use Judo's for all my roving. I've been interested in the SGT's for a long time, but haven't tried any yet.

One thing I've found shooting Ace blunts, though, is that I seem to break more arrows with 'em when I hit a tree or stump that's kind of hard. My thinking is Judo's absorb more of the impact, due to the smaller tip and the spring arms.

I would go with the SGT's if I were hunting small game though, but haven't tried that yet.

You are right. I have noticed more shock transmitted to the shaft when hitting hard objects with this sgt as well. The nocks popped off more often with this point when getting a solid hit on twigs. I haven't seen any splits on the ends of my gt carbon shaft yet. But I will have to be more careful with these points. How durable are the Judo point spring arms. Does it tend to accumulate dirt in spring area?

I Shoot sgt's at stumps. I have lost a few squirrels too but they are a great head even though I prefer hex heads.

I'm a big fan of Judo's for stumping/roving. I generally use old  broadheads for small game, unless I'm hunting over a dog.

I like Judo points and RFA Talons the best.  As a guy that's primarily a small game hunter, I built my arrows around a 125gr screw in point specifically so I could use Judo's and RFA Talons for small game hunting.  I dropped a 100gr insert in them to up the weight for when deer/hog hunting (with other 125gr heads) and now I can shoot the same shaft/head weight for everything from bag practice to small game to medium game while using the two best heads for the type of shooting that I do 95% of the time.

The Judo's are extremely durable, In at least 5 years of shooting them, I;ve only broken one spring arm, and I think that may nave happened when I was digging one out of a stump. I still shoot that one, with three srmd, and it'd fine.

They do collrct dirt, but I clean it out easily brushing it on a twig, some grass, whatever. Never broke a point; did being one slightly once.

Mostly stumping with judos, but a ordinary blunt with a washer works fine to.

I like the SGT's, RFA Talons, Judo Kondors, and traditional Judos.  I used to put washers behind steel blunts, but ended up with a lot of bent arrows.  I've made a few points out of miscellaneous nuts, bolts, screws, and washers, too, and they've worked... mostly.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Slobowjoe got it right, Judo's are durable.  As an aside, any of you thinking about ordering some of the cheep made in China copies of the Judo save your money.  I ordered some and upon quick arrival gave them a try.  One wack on a solid stump and the spring set is ruined or missing.

I use and like the SGT heads, though I've found that on hard hits the shafts have split. I foot all my stumping arrows for that reason.
Have had mixed results on squirrels with them - body hits often allow them to escape into.

The talon looks like a vicious point. Will give the judos a try next.

I second the warning against cheap Judo facsimiles.  They are junk.

I've got some small game arrows made up with 250 gr,glue on SGT's.The only game I've shot with them is a ground squirrel and a snowshoe hare. Both hits were absolutely devastating. The hare never even twitched.
