Which feather do you prefer and why?

Robert Armstrong

Trueflight, more finely processed and consistent.

While the Trueflights are more consistent, I use Gateway because I got a bunch of them for $10/100!

Ya, I got 50 for $25 @Cabelas they fly great but I have used true flights for as long as I can remember. I have tried the bear paw feathers and they definitely do not hold up as well as true flights.
Just wondering how long they will last?

They last real well for me. I shoot groups a lot, so I do tear some up from arrows slapping together in the target.

AMG...all I use now. Always used Trueflight but the increasing costs of their feathers turned me off. I love the AMG colors, especially the florescents, good bases and much cheaper.
"Neal...is this heaven?" "No Piute but we are dam close". Top of the Mtn in Medicine Bow Nat Forest.

Yewbender

Trueflight feathers and real turkey

1kwikstik

Trueflight. I don't like the looks of Gateways barred feathers.

RedShaft

True flight. Better quality. My opinion.
Rough Country.. The Hunters Choice

Steelhead

Gateways work fine. But trueflights are a little better

Grey Taylor

I use both and see high and low points for each brand.
Trueflight: thinner base but it's too wide, good art. barr.
Gateway: narrower base but it is too thick, good camo pattern, poor art. barr., full length is typically very long.

Tie two birds together; though they have four wings, they can not fly.

Bearpaw for me although I have used both Gateway and Trueflight...the Gateway Rayzr is one of my favourites

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

My standard for anything to do with arrows is whether I can shoot the difference in accuracy...in general my differences in accuracy are far more attributable to differences in form than to differences in equipment...I suppose if I was shooting 9 and 10's on a 70 metre FITA target I might see things a bit differently

I can make any of the above brands work for me. With the prices for feathers always going up I shop around a lot. IMO it may not be the brand of feathers but how well the fletching jig can accommodate quills not perfect ground.

My own processed turkey feathers is my first choice. If i have to buy them its tru flight. The quill base is usually a little more consistent. Ive used AMG and they were pretty good, i sanded the base down a little

Trueflight or AMG, after sanding the base.

My first choice is Tru-flight,but have used AMG,Gateway and Bear Paw.I just don't like to mix them on the same arrow.

stonewall

I use which ever ones I can get the cheapest.

Steve Jr

Well after fletching some up I prefer tru flight feathers over the gate ways. I don't really like the quill on them. I will use them up but I'm sticking with tru flight from now on.
Thanks for all of your responces.

Babbling Bob

Gateway.

Best fluorescent yellow in my opinion.  Can see them blindfolded, with my eyes closed, on a dark night in the piney woods.
