Seein' lotsa sweet looking knives here, been thinking about making a couple of my own but I think I need some more inspiration.
Hoping you knifesmiths out there might be willing to share some photos of your creations.

Here's one I just made for my brother.   It was my first attempt at the basketweave pattern on the sheath.

I made this one as a present for a H.O.A.L. guide last year (This was actually the first knife I built)

These are a few of my favorites I've made from Helle blades. I haven't graduated to making my own blades yet but I'm proud of them nonetheless. Mike

Keith,
I have several from Lin Rhea.  They are scary sharp, and stay that way....I almost forgot, they look good too.  These are a few that I own that were made by Lin.

I'm not sure what the policy is on posting links, there is a link to his homepage on his TradGang member profile.  There is actually a course you can take that will teach you how to make knives from forge to finish.

You can also rent several DVD's on knifemaking from smartflix.

Another one. A bit of a 'Work in Progress' this time. I figured it was about time I made a knife for myself!  :D  :D

Can't make my mind up on the handle materials yet. It's going to have brass liners, interspersed with black buffalo horn, but for the handle plates, I just can't decide between some beautiful Honey streaked buffalo horn or some really nice cowhorn....

For those that are intrested, the Damascus is made up of 700 layers of 5160 (spring steel) 203E (low carbon high impact High nickel mild steel alloy) 15N20 (band saw blade material), 52100 (ball bearing steel), and 1018 (structural steel) Hardened to 58/60RWC. Bought from Alabama Damascus Steels.

  Wowzers! Now that is no doubt a knife I'd carry daily. Beautiful steel Rob! Very nice blade design as well. Kind of an all around good blade. I forgot to tell you that your other knife made the team. She get's a hog workout or two almost weekly. I had to stop getting her so sharp. I was cutting hides. Now I hit her on a steel once in awhile and we go cut another hog. Good knife! CK

:notworthy:    :notworthy:   Those are some great looking knives!!!
Mike, that 3rd from the left is gorgeous!
Jeff, love that wood handled on.
Rob, that blade is awesome!
I'm going to give it a whirl and let ya'll know how it comes along, but I don't think I can touch some of the quality that you guys have.
Question for ya, what kind of file or saw blade should I be looking for? And are they hard to find?

Great job guys!

i'd look for something that will break and not bend. cut a thin strip ,put it in a vice and try to bend it.if it breaks it will probly make a good knife.

tippit

Here are a couple of my recent ones.  Plus some ruff forged/ground blanks awaiting the end of deer season to finish up...Doc
