With a hunting trip coming up fast, I need a few more broadhead arrows, just for emergencies. My go-to 3 blade VPAs that I plan to use are mounted and scary sharp. They are aren't cheap. So I  ordered a 6 pack of Grizzly broadheands for back-up. I got the 185 gr that has the thickest steel and possibly the most rotational effect. Adding a steel inert put the weight at 260 grains for a total arrow weight of about 650 gr.
I have always been interested in singled bevels from reading about them on here so right away I tried pushing one through an apple and instantly noticed the rotation and the apple would spilt open easily. My daughter and I went through 3 apples! Only able to get off 3 shots during a lighter part of a thunderstorm, the accuracy seems right on. I used the 1' thick rump part of a 3D deer target. It is pretty rigid foam and sitting on the ground by itself. It moves when an arrow hits and soaks up some energy.  I noticed the arrow rotation was really strong. And the S shape cut was evident. Penetration seemed about 2"-3 more than the 3 blade VPA. The Grizzlies were sticking about an 1" out the back of the foam So I could see how much it rotated. It was really surprising!
More playing around this weekend.

That 185 is my favorite Grizzly. Man is it ever though! It is so thick that when we grind the bevels on it we have to remove over 40 grains of steel.

I really like them, but I still have trouble getting them sharp even with a KME, I know I know I need to call Ron.

I would guess that the steel needs to be pretty hard compared to a double bevel? Because it is thinner and could roll if not hard enough? I haven't sharpened one.

I'm taking some of those Grizzly 185 single bevels elk hunting real soon. Hopefully i'll give you some feed back.

I put a very very small bevel on the back side and I still get rotation through the target and it makes a more durable edge! My wife hit a 2x4 the other night and it was a left bevel head with right wing feathers and it still split that board like nobody's business!

185 gr. Grizzly is my go to broadhead. Those things are built like a tank !!!
