I went to cabelas last night to shoot the above bows and see if I liked one better that the other. The montana was 55# shooting carbons marked 65/80.
The Savannah was 50# shooting carbons marked X200.
The montana seemed to shoot alright other than smacking the crap out of my arm I thought not bad had alot of cast I thought it shot the arrow pretty good and I could get used to it and shoot it pretty good with practice. Next up
The Savannah felt better in my hand I shot it much better and it seemed to really zip the arrows with athority compared to the Montana even though it was 5# lighter. It just felt better smoother draw. Never hit my arm (different grip)
My question is I wanted to go heavier,I currently shoot 50# but boy I liked the way the 50# Savannah handeled the arrow even though it wasnt a perfect match for the bow. I am waiting for the Trad show in Kalamazoo in Jan 08 to shoot others but I really liked that Savannah.

I have shot both, and my vote would go to the Savannah. IMO, it is right up there with a lot of customs. A lot nicer looking, too. Not that the Montana is not a nice bow, but the Savannah beats it hands down. You can't go wrong with a Savannah as far as I'm concerned.

If you do a search for Savannah, you'll have more info than you can read in a week.

My vote is for the Savannah,smooth and great speed.I like the design better on the Savannah,plus it is prettier.

Savannah is a great bow, it will keep up with most longbows out there and has no handshock and is very quiet. Craftmanship is way better on the Martin bows anymore as well. Shawn

Do any of you have a idea of the draw weight feel from the 55# montana compared to a 55# savannah. I compared a 50# savannah to a 55# montana and it felt great,(Iwish they both were 55# for a equal comparrrison) will the smoothness of a 55# savannah feel lighter compared to the montana.
Is that statement clear??
